Spring 2018
In a project to explore form and value-giving, I was tasked to create 3, reproducable items that would each have 3 different fates: 1 to keep, 1 to gift, and 1 to sell.

Rather than focus primarily on function, I challenged myself to make objects by focusing on the materiality of the medium I wanted to work with, and to create objects that could stand alone and take up space with intention, whether they were standing alone or activated through human interaction.

I choose to explore sculptural jewelery with an asymmetrical focus, taking advantage of the malleable qualities of metal to explore how form can be produced and value changed through thoughtful treatment of medium.

Bangles were crafted out of brass, holders were constructed with solid walnut.
